Three additional Inquiry Design Modules from NY can
be found here: http://www.c3teachers.org/idm/
The first three fully annotated inquiries are now available as models for teachers wanting to build their own inquiries:
  • Kindergarten - Can we ever get everything we need and want?
  • Grade 7 - Can words lead to war?
  • Grade 10 -  Was the French Revolution successful?
CKEC Summer 2015 Social Studies Curriculum Work Day
The primary work of the summer of 2015 will focus on three key components:
1.     Using an “Equip-like” rubric, we will analyze instructional units and lessons for congruency to the proposed standards. The rubric is attached for your review.  As you will see, the rubric focuses on best-practices for student learning, regardless of disciplinary context.
2.     After this analysis process, teachers will then turn to EXISTING instructional units/lessons to begin the process of making intentional instructional practice shifts that are congruent to the Inquiry Practices of the proposed standards.
3.     Teachers will finish the day with an Instructional Unit summary that outlines intentional Inquiry connections and a well-structured lesson of that larger unit.
