~ABOUT ME~ I am currently a District Mathematics Instructional Specialist for Fayette County Public Schools in Lexington, KY. Previously I was the Professional Growth and Effectiveness Coach at Leestown Middle School for 2 years and for 5 years before that I served as the Instructional Specialist for the Kentucky Department of Education in the Central Kentucky Educational Cooperative region, on loan from Woodford County Public Schools where I was a district math coach before starting that position in the Summer of 2010. The 2022-2023 school year starts my 33rd year as an educator.
Formerly, in addition to my work in Woodford County, I served as an Instructional Coach at Beaumont Middle School and as district Assessment Resource Specialist in Fayette County, I taught elementary and middle school math methods at Eastern Kentucky University, worked as a Mathematics Consultant for KDE in Frankfort and taught mathematics at Crawford Middle School in Fayette County, and at Catlettsburg Junior High & Boyd County Middle School and East Carter Middle & High School in NorthEastern KY. I completed my PhD in Education Leaderhship and Supervisor of Instruction administrative certification and Education Specialist degrees at the University of the Cumberlands. I was in the second ACCLAIM mathematics doctoral cohort and am ABD (all but dissertation) in mathematics curriculum & instruction at the University of Louisville, my Master's degree & Rank I in mathematics education at Morehead State University and my Bachelor’s degree in middle grades education from the University of Kentucky with specializations in Mathematics and Social Studies.
On a personal note, I live in Lexington, KY, am an advocate for public schools, a True Blue Wildcat Fan and a wife and mother of two sons.
