Where can I find examples of good assessment questions for math?

NEW ASSESSMENTS in DEVELOPMENT - Two competing state coalitions have taken on the job of designing the new tests for the 2014-2015 school year when most states will start testing the Common Core State Standards, they are the Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) and the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium, and both have posted examples of what's coming on their websites.

Kentucky Assessment Information...

SAMPLE ITEMS POSTED  In 2011-2012, new state-required assessments named the Kentucky-Performance Rating for Educational Progress (K-PREP) tests will administered to Kentucky’s public school students. Pearson is developing K-PREP tests for grades 3-8 that use a blended Norm-Referenced Test and Criterion-Referenced Test (CRT) model.  The NRT portion is the Stanford Achievement Series (Stanford 10). The CRT portion will be created for Kentucky.  Pearson has provided sample Stanford 10 items and KDE has reposted sample CRT items released during DAC trainings in February 2011.  The sample test items are available at the following link:  http://education.ky.gov/AA/items/Pages/K-PREPItems.aspx

Quality Core info about Calculators:For the Algebra 2 test, the calculator policy is the same as on the ACT. It can be found on page 25 of the test supervisor's manual, available in the Quality Core secured site or on the KDE Quality Core page link: http://www.act.org/stateservices/kentucky/manuals.html
