This year: our focus across all the leadership networks (ISLN, ELA & Math) will continue to be about implementing the new standards with balanced assessment and highly effective teaching and learning, using the literacy design collaborative and mathematics formative assessment lessons as models for improving student learning. However, this year we will give you more strategies for rolling out the literacy & math strategies to teachers across your schools & district as well as how to support professional learning & growth using KDE’s adapted version of Charlotte Danielson Framework for Teaching.
This month: overview of the Danielson Framework and some specific practice with the performance levels for questioning & discussion techniques. Questioning which is a natural part of the literacy and math strategies emphasized in the content networks and examining this component will allow you time to analyze critical attributes and examples of this important part of effective teaching updates about the math and literacy content meetings your teachers will be attending the last week of September.
Special Guest: Buddy Berry, Eminence Superintendent, shared some of his amazing ideas & successes. His enthusiasm was both a surprise and delight you, and his concrete examples of student improvement are great motivators this school year - Thanks for this exciting presentation!
