CKEC Summer 2015 Social Studies Curriculum Work Day
The primary work of the summer of 2015 will focus on three key components: 1. Using an “Equip-like” rubric, we will analyze instructional units and lessons for congruency to the proposed standards. The rubric is attached for your review. As you will see, the rubric focuses on best-practices for student learning, regardless of disciplinary context. 2. After this analysis process, teachers will then turn to EXISTING instructional units/lessons to begin the process of making intentional instructional practice shifts that are congruent to the Inquiry Practices of the proposed standards. 3. Teachers will finish the day with an Instructional Unit summary that outlines intentional Inquiry connections and a well-structured lesson of that larger unit. ***Draft Social Studies for the Next Generation Kentucky Core Academic Standards*** Curriculum Considerations Documents: Kindergarten 1st Grade 2nd Grade 3rd Grade 4th Grade 5th Grade 6th Grade 7th Grade 8th Grade High School Option 1 High School Option 2 High School Option 3 zip files --Elementary Curriculum Considerations Document --Middle School Curriculum Considerations Document --High School Curriculum Considerations Document KDE Social Studies Page <-click here C3 Framework pdf file |
